Hi everyone,

You probably remember me talking about my tip of a garden. Well, it all change now-new house and a new garden. It's very pretty with decking and a pond. Poor clay soil though so won't be planting veg in it. Thinking of building a raised bed though or maybe even applying for an allotment space!
We've bought some dwarf fruit trees so fingers crossed for them. :D
Also setting my greenhouse up soon so very excited about growing tomatos and peppers etc.
What's everyone planted so far?
I'm trying to be patient!
Hehe!

Hi CB

Nice to see you back on the forum after an absence of over 2 years :)

I have never gardened on clay so I don't know what to suggest, but I think there are some forum members who know about clay and should be able to offer some good advice.

Your optimism for your new garden shines through :)

In North West Wales we are currently enjoying a long spell of spring weather. Peppers, tomatoes, herbs, cabbages, lettuces, peppers etc etc are through in the polytunnel. So looking forward to a better summer than the last two.

keep us posted on your progress in the new house and garden.

Dear Cat, glad you have got somewhere nice.
The raised beds will be the quickest way of producing good crops this year, as long as you can get some soil or compost to start them off.

If not, lots of coarse sand and bulky organic matter dug into the soil, but don't expect miracles the first year.

I have know got lots of things sowed and growing. :)
