Nice to know that you're keeping an eye on things, OH.
Its interesting to see that only 180 or so members have made 10 or more postings and about half of the members haven't made a single posting.

We could each give them one gift, either free seeds or similar or our absolute best piece of advice but one piece of advice only, otherwise they will never come back!!

We could dedicate a thread to them!! And in the same spirit all gardeners that are starting a fresh.

I appreciate what you're saying Compo, but if I'd just joined the last thing I would do would be give my address out to a bunch of strangers. :? I think an online welcome would probably suffice.

Follow up to John's post - I notice that over half of "members" have made NO POSTS at all :!: Judging by some of the names I suspect bored surfers signing up. Or am I just cynical.

I suggest that when Old Herbaceous reaches his 1500th post we send him a prize. He's already well on the way there.

There is a rather daunting bunch of regulars on the forum which I fear is probably why so few registered members place anything on!

I would find this very upsetting if this was the case, especially as i must fall into the rather daunting bunch of regulars.
Maybe this is a good time for the new members to let the forum know what they think about the forum. We can't be that bad surely, or they wouldn't bother registering after looking at the sight. :?

Well theres another posting closer towards my prize.

Just out of interest, what is the advantage of joining the forum if you don't want to participate? I read it regularly for weeks, and only joined when I had a question that I felt sure would get a helpful answer from someone. Are there any other advantages that I don't know about?
