Did anyone watch the gardeners world special friday evening :?: If so it was mainly about public parks.
I didn't relize that Joseph Paxton had a lot to do with the planning of these.
The reason i find this interesting is that he was born in the village where i live.
We put a plaque up at the village hall in the milleniem commemorating his life, there is also a stained glass window in the church for him.
He was born the son of a tenant farmer, so i should say his old dad was well proud of him.
Theres meant to be a very well written book about him, i might treat myself to it for Christmas. :D
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Not sure about that Pete, i know he was head gardener at Chatsworth house in Derbyshire and helped design the Crystal palace.
I will have to get the book now.
I lost contact with him when he moved away.

Yes, it is the same Joseph paxton. I looked him up on Google and the Wikipedia site gives details of his birthplace, so now, OH, WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!!
