Did anyone watch the gardeners world special friday evening If so it was mainly about public parks.
I didn't relize that Joseph Paxton had a lot to do with the planning of these.
The reason i find this interesting is that he was born in the village where i live.
We put a plaque up at the village hall in the milleniem commemorating his life, there is also a stained glass window in the church for him.
He was born the son of a tenant farmer, so i should say his old dad was well proud of him.
Theres meant to be a very well written book about him, i might treat myself to it for Christmas.
Joseph Paxton

Is that the same Paxton who bought Middleton Hall in Camarthenshire and had gave Tenby its drains?

Not sure about that Pete, i know he was head gardener at Chatsworth house in Derbyshire and helped design the Crystal palace.
I will have to get the book now.
I lost contact with him when he moved away.

Oh Herbie, you slipped up there, never mind get the stick out quick, the one with one brown end.
You'll need it, all those vibrant young women now know where to go to find an eligable (and posh) gentleman of indeterminate but he claims advancing years.
Chantal is on her way.
