As a good many of you know, my OH Tim was quoted in the Daily Telegraph as admitting to having bought potatoes from M&S as mine were "dirty". Having extracted a promise from him to eat mine and not buy them or have an extremely reduced life expectancy HE'S DONE IT AGAIN!!!! I have TWO SACKS of spuds in the house and he's bought a bag of spuds from M&S! What do I have to do? His explanation is this. He couldn't remember if we had any and was too scared to ring me up and ask as he knows I'd have told him and he wasn't listening, again. Therefore he had to buy some in case we didn't have any. And I've agreed to MARRY him?!

What have I let myself in for?

Oh dear Oh dear - I have one of those at home too. He doesn't buy spuds as he grew ours and he's very proud of them. he does have a tendency to buy other veg though as he says it's preferable to having courgettes AGAIN!

Chantal, all I can suggest is that you throw them at him. :)

One at a time and very accurately. :D

Reason being they are no good to eat as they came from a shop, so he must have bought them for that other wifely usage.

I have a modest qualification and some experience in relationship counselling, and guess what the single most biggest problem occurring with most couples is........????

Before I let the answer slip.....as it is a bit quiet on here let's have a few guesses ?? the (subtle) clue is in the thread somewhere I think....

Failing to communicate, lack of verbal interaction, not talking to each other.

No I didn't and your right on again, I put it in the original and then edited out, which demonstrates the biggest part of failed communication which is

The 'well I am sure that I told you, are you sure I didn't.........well I thought I did!! Syndrome

just to balence this heavily biased thread, my wife does exactly the same thing, comes back from shopping with carrots when weve got a couple of rows in the garden, eating apples when there are loads on the ground a 5 minute walk away.

At least you can get your significant others to do the shopping. If I want it done I either go myself (8+ months pregnant without a car) or call him at work with one or two things to pick up on the way home. Any more than that and there'll be confusion.

he has no idea what we have in the house because the shopping fairy does it all. That may have to change once little sprout comes along.
