compact plant trainers

I am thinking of getting a couple of these.

Any thoughts on whether they are worth it or not? I am hoping they will allow me a lot more space on my windowsills as last year I ran out of room. Most seem to be around the price offered at organic gardening, but if anyone knows of where to get them cheaper please let me know!
