I seem to remember saying that half of me was envious that Jane E had broken her arm. Someone was obviously listening because yesterday morning I broke my right arm and wrist - fell down the stairs.

I'm going to ask for the 6 winning Lottery numbers next!

Oh no Tigger! That's terrible news! Are you all plastered up?
Are you right handed?

Yes and yes! The only good thing is that work has offered to provide me with transport, so I'll be chauffeur driven for the next month.

Now Tigger,
When I took you aside and gave you that lecture about 'If a thing is worth doing it is worth doing well.' I didn't expect you to take it to such silly bloody lengths. Arm and wrist indeed!!
I will now keep out of your way until the plaster is off!
Get better soon dear Tigger.
Sincerely, JB.

Poor Tigger, I don't envy you with your arm in a cast in this heat. Had you been drinking again when you broke it?

Well - I did have a whole glass of Meridian apple juice from Herefordshire. Does that count?

Tigger, if you will try bouncing up the stairs after drinking dodgy scrumpy (amazing what this weather can do do apple juice left out for a while) then you will fall down and have to be re-plastered.

If you had been drunk you would probably just have a bruise or two.
Drunks are relaxed and unaware. :D
Sober people will put their hands out to try and break their fall thus breaking....
Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.

Thankyou so much. I think I've exhausted the sympathy vote now. Could you apply your thoughts to how I do those things which so many of us take our right hands and arms for granted, which our left hands and arms appear to be incapable of.

On the positive side - my signature is unrecognisable so all cheques are out of the question for the next month. I'm going to be taken to and from work which will save me in excess of £50 per week in petrol and I can doze off during the slow bits. OH will do most of the domestic chores. I can't do the usual twice per week shopping expeditions on my own - sorry OH - chauffeur and packer duties required. Proper washing up is out of the question in case my plaster gets wet - OH again. Personal maid roles are required for dressing and undressing - there's only you available OH. No ironing.

Is it possible that these injuries could take 8 weeks to heal rather than 4?
