Thanks OH. Not posting at 5 am though I notice !!

Seems the recent autumn rains have encouraged the big brown slugs to make an appearance on our oatio again. They seem to have been missing much of the summer despite I different weather and are not as big or fat yet as in previous years. . None of the wildlife in our garden will touch the darned things sadly. Even our visiting ting pair of crows who eat almost anything regard them with disdain. Pity we don,t have any ducks who I'm m sure would make short work of them.

Had a lovely day, lots of butterflies and I've just finished cutting all my grass.

Phone weather was just right down here - sunny & mild with a light breeze, shame I was at work, but just 7 shifts over 3 weeks to go! I can kinda see the house chores taking a back seat - no that's a fib, if I leave the dirty paw prints it is well harder to clean & have about 4 months of them coming up. Timing not great to loose an income with the energy suppliers hiking their prices (along with every other increase other suppliers are finding), but all will be fine when the tax man catches up! In the meantime it would be better if the press didn't sensationalise the lack of things. Today I heard pumpkins are going to be difficult to find - not in my nearest supermarket, got loads & stupid silly prices even the huge heavy ones are just £3. How can the farmer make a living if that is the selling price??

You've probably all seen this but just in case - bit of a pain so early had to do my stock check in a hurry!

The allotment shop has just got the King's allotment priced catalogues in so looking forward to picking one up for a browse & the big decision on spuds. I have bought my onion sets, shallots & garlic elsewhere, part worried about supply & part this year's disappointing harvest - except for the prize winning shallots, but need onions big enough to store as shallots are too fiddly & I have loads!

I shall be going to Wilko for my seed potatoes again and onion sets and shallots. Reasonably priced and the same quality(IMO) as the big or specialist suppliers and to the Real Seed Company for the bulk of my packet seeds and local garden centre for any tomato and brassica plants.
