Thanks all. All I really wanted for my birthday was a new body but alas the innovation fairies didn't bring one !
On reflecting I cant help marvelling at the changes I've seen over my life. When I started work the most exciting innovation in the office environment was an electric typewriter and now we have the internet and all kinds of technology in every walk of life, including robots in the operating theatre operating on humans!

Alas though on the gardening front I guess the same old challenges of how to beat the slugs and the weather remain largely the same as existed in our grandparents' days!
