Since I have a spare moment, I thought I would start the new topic.

Anyway, it's nearly light when I get up now, so we are nearly there... and the weekend and onwards, finally looks like the weather is going to be a bit kinder. So it will be busy, busy.... :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

We could do with some of your rain robo. I,m sure the farmers could too. Having a bitter cold wind forced on us to ruin the day for any outside sociable activities we might as well have the whole hog ! We,ve had to out some heavy.weights on our lightweight garden table to stop it being blown off the patio. Glad I,m not out in a small boat today. - or any kind of boat for that matter!

The rain has just started here, Primrose, so should be with you in about 30 mins... :)

Yes OH. You batted it down here very nicely . The combination of cold wind and rain is very unpleasant. Almost feel, like writing the rest of the day off and retiring under the duvet with my hot water bottle! Feel sorry for all these newly hatched young birds in open nests.

Primrose ,I wish I could get out in our boat , the marina started to repair the lock gates that gives us access to the river Mersey they did it right in the middle of the annual cod run at the end of January and they are still working on them but with covid I don’t think we would have gone fishing anyway

It's made it's way down to Dorset proper just now. Was a bit breezy earlier & I thought that was it, & it had run out of puff, but seems it was just warming up. I've just been out the back garden rescuing the pots which it is blowing over & popped them under the patio table. They are all well heavy as mostly large clay pots & usually stand up to the wind quite nicely. One is broken and all the plants have taken a bashing. There will definitely be some trees & branches down tomorrow I expect.

We had just over 12mm rain today, the first proper rain since March (other than a short sharp shower yesterday). It was pouring and blowing hard until just after 6pm and then - bright sunshine! I managed to plant out my beetroot and sunflowers this morning, so they should be nicely watered in. It's jolly cold though, and looking at the long term forecast, it seems things won't be warming up here until next week.

I wanted it to rain, but not sideways! It's absolutely ghastly here, blowing a gale with 45 degree rain. I am happy the garden will get a good drink, but I planted out those poor cobra beans yesterday, they will get a right old battering over night I think.

24,000 step by my fitbit today, went for a wander with the dogs and bar a few random spits missed the rain entirely. Roughly 11am to 3:30pm, it's vile and lovely right now.
Vile to be out in.
Lovely for my allotment, the park and all the sproutless spring sown fields.

Been chucking it down in my part of the world for a few hours.Drainage ditch at the back and side of the house running a bit sluggish.Idiot neighbour has thrown ivy trimmings into it and the rest of the debris brought down by the water built up behind it.Another phone call of complaint to the Council tomorrow.Bloody pest.
Regards snooky

Just past 42mm and still going, cool and windy with it. Act of defiance today, planted 10 tomatoes in the polytunnel, needed ear defenders at times.
