Got a phone call today - spuds have been delivered as well! I try to buy the extra's from the smaller guys but the allotment discount is quite substantial with Kings so the basics from them & the treats & experiments from the smaller companies.

I love Wilko but our only one is near Bournemouth in a dodgy arcade where the non-believer protesters like to assemble, especially if it is raining. (Along with the drunks & homeless but they are really benign in comparison & they even avoid the protestors). I truly don't know how the police maintain their cool dealing with these fools but all credit to them! Maybe I need to befriend one & he/she could nip in for me seeing he's in there anyway??

Your lucky with your Brown order Oldherbaceous unlike me with kings.

Latest from Kings

"If you have already placed an order we are working very hard to fulfill them. However commercial and home garden orders are taking approximately 14-21 working days from date of receipt.

If you are chasing an Allotment Society order we are currently working through a back log and the current lead time is approximately 8 weeks from date of order."

Allotment orders take longer that current orders? Seems back to front to me.

I ordered my supply from simplyseeds and growseeds last Autumn. They took weeks and weeks to arrive, but I didn't want a repeat of last spring whenI couldn't get anything I wanted from anyone! They are all tucked up in an old biscuit tin awaiting sowing time.

Morning Colin, I don't like to say it but, to me it sounds awfully like they are keeping the orders waiting, that are unlikely to be cancelled, like Allotment societies, while processing out the newer orders first...if this is the case, it's very naughty indeed!!

It seems all the local allotments have also had their deliveries, can't confirm out of my patch but with them out of the way they must be able to get the individual orders out now. Our allotment orders go in late October so even in normal times it is over 8 weeks so a 'porky pie' there for a start!

Think cancellation would cause problems for allotment secretary plus no confidence kings could easily issue refund.

Just had email saying I can confirm your order will be packed by Friday 12/2 and sent out the following week.

You're all brave. Sorting a manure delivery or changing the gate combination is tougher than I dont know what. I couldn't contemplate organising a bulk seed order!!!

I feel quite bad now, as my seeds were waiting for me, when I got back from work...
