"I would like to know how they save you money"
How about the money saved from gym membership (£hundreds) as opposed to allotment fees (£tens).
Free fresh air as oppose to supermarket air conditioning.
Half of allotments held by women.

And I also recall the response made by a "well off" high flying business woman friend of ours who responded to the sarcastic comment made to her once of "How the wealthy live!"......... "yes, but how hard the wealthy often work too!"
Basically in whatever area our success lies, it's usually accompanied by a lot of effort, (and sometimes some luck too,). I think as gardeners we're all dependent on the weather to supplement our hard work

Remember one lady plot holder saying. Monty Don makes it look much easier. My reply was he has probable two full time gardeners out of camera shot.

I posted this in April 2017
Grow your own?
We bought a cauliflower at Aldi today for 29p labelled Cornwall variety Clemen.
(included a link to a seed price that no longer works)
How do they do it?
I've just done a search and only found this variety at £3.99 for 20 seeds.
