The only thing predictable about the British weather is its unpredictability. No wounder when we want to start a conversation we use the weather as an opener.
I stii remember the snow in June, it didn't last but cut the outdoor tomatoes back, eventually most of them grew new tops.
I got the early beans planted, next day they were sitting in waterlogged mud. Now they are looking chilled but still alive so a tonic all round should pull them through, meanwhile there are reserves tucked away.
The happiest plants seem to be round 1 of tomatoes in first polytunnel, no problem there.
Strawberries in growbags have shed their whitefly without any treatment from me. Perhaps they saw me purchasing an up-to-date eat-same-day bug spray and thought time to move on.
As to the rain collection, totally filled up now, a quick tot-up 2400 gallons plus extras , mostly at the farm.
