I've only just sowed my pepper seeds, oh well, better late than never! We put a new felt roof on my shed at home today, very satisfyingly job!

What a difference in a week

One of my tomatoes has a strange photosynthesis pattern. For some reason the little guy found it easier to grow only one large leaf and skip the growing tip completely.

Blimey, not seen that before! Don't chuck it, play with it (separately), just to see what happens. If it will make it to fruit, you could have some interesting specimens!

I had one like that last year. I gave it every chance but nothing came of it. A blind seedling I believe.

Yes, I've had one or two of these in the past, they don't do anything, not even grow from what I can remember.

On the air traffic: there were comparative maps in the Guardian today showing the tremendous drop in are pollution since the air traffic restrictions. One GOOD outcome of this mess.

Had a lovely day today, chain harrowed and rolled the grass meadows..took me back to my younger days...

Got to be a positive, hopefully it will last long enough to reverse some of the damage being done & already done! I'm enjoying the sunshine though & really pleased to hear officially the allotment is officially socially isolating & counted as exercise! Well for today anyway!

I,ve had occasional tomatoes like that Elmigo too. They don't develop alternative sideshoots so afraid it,s going to be a waste of space

Another investment in confidence for the future, I planted all my potatoes today. Also gave the ones in the polytunnel a bit of a talking to, told them they might be needed at the end of April instead of the usual mid-May. Not sure if the stored ones are going to last us and when we were shopping couldn't buy potatoes or our annual bag of frozen chips that usually tides us over. Going to try not to shop again until May. They seem to be responding to this beautiful weather, all our brews and meals outside today.

Glorious day today and the first butterflies: a peacock and a small tortoiseshell, also lots of bumble bees.

Geoff, I have the ground ready. So I am going to put spuds in tomorrow. Earlier than I would usually plant them.

We have butterflies and lots of different bumble bees, we sit on a bench by our heather bed for coffee watching all the different insects visiting. Walking the dog I see curlews and lapwings displaying and calling and yesterday there were skylarks singing. Looks like we'll have to enjoy it while we can as it is going to cool down again.
