Yes, I don't think grass takes long to rot, especially the bottom layers of this pile. Or does it? Because when it's compost I want to spread it over the entire garden again, if only to elevate the ground a bit more. Because removing the grass lowered the ground level more than I hoped it would.
I also think it's time for a mid-winter thread!

The only power driven tool I use for gardening is a strimmer, which I bought last year. For the previous 14 years on the allotment I cut the grass on the paths with shears.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
