we were driving home from dorset to middlesex yesterday afternoon in that appalling heavy rain. It was relentless, and visibility was shocking. So glad to have made it home in one piece. lots of drivers did not have their lights on, and you could only just about see the car in front.

No rain here yet, we could do with it. So much of gardening this morning, especially cutting back lots of lush vegetation and trimming the pyracantha hedges, to prepare for the deluge to come .......

Well, June is never 'flaming', is it? July and August tend to have much higher temperatures, at least around here. Still no rain here ......

I hate it when you have plant plans & weather says otherwise & then the said rain & winds don't eventuate. Mind, I do also like the nice shiny house - not as much as being on lottie though!

look on the bright side.... last year both our blackcurrants and raspberries were abysmal due to the lack of rain, this lot has come at about the right time for them to be a bumper crop this year.

I was three quarters off an hour driving one and half miles to the plot this morning , most of the main roads around our part of town are flooded a main road into town is closed due to flooding that puts all the other roads to full capacity

What's going on? The weather gods fooled us! Last week the temperatures were rising above 30°C and I got a sunburn while working on my balcony garden. Today I have water on places I didn't know existed and the temperatures are just low enough to catch a cold and sneeze over your hot chocolate in front of the fireplace. Gotta watch out for the containers to not become too wet but it's a difficult job moving everything away.

I see Wallis Seeds have finished, due to retirement.....a real shame, as I used to buy a lot of seeds from them.
