It may have been a bit down for you Geoff but the country has just managed two weeks without any coal being used for generation. Obviously not all the power generated from renewables is from solar but the change from coal generation is extraordinary

I still like the idea I heard a prof promoting of building a coal fired power station under the northeast and scrubbing the carbon dioxide etc. out of the waste gases. Electric cars and a foggy Friday night in winter and we'll grind to a halt.
