What attracts gnats to freshly gloss painted surfaces?
I'll have to rub down and give the newly painted front door another coat. :( It looked pretty good but I suppose it might look even better second time.

Perhaps better to paint on a dull sunless day where the gloss of fresh moist paint is not such an attraction.
Or maybe you just have to stand in front of your freshly painted doorway smoking a pipe containing the most noxious tobacco until the paint has dried.
We once had just finished painting the entire clapboard covering of our then terraced house with white glass paint when next door neighbour lit a bonfire consisting of newspaper and rubber stuff. The whole paintwork was wrecked with black smoke and flakes of burnt rubbish. Had to repeat the whole process. Boy, did he get a mouthful !!
