Been down the plot this morning managed to get a small bag full of various vegetables to make a pan of soup mainly broccoli but they are not producing the amount of shoots they have been doing, the packet of aldi wild seeds I scattered down the side of the fence are still paying dividends I left them alone when they all died we had two sunflowers mixed in with the rest they only reached around seven to eight feet high but each one had around twelve to fourteen flowers now the blue fits are feeding on them one bird looks like she is feeding young as she is none stop flying backwards and forwards in the same direction all the time

OH and others,
I'm really sorry to hear of your various problems. I thank my lucky stars that all I have is a miserable cold.
Be reassured that, despite a few issues, the NHS is generally brilliant.

We had the worst news you could get off the specialist yesterday regarding my wife , she has over seven nodules on her lungs they stop counting at seven by all accounts ,she could have chemo but it could kill her he said with out treatment she may get two years chemo will not cure it but it may give her longer, she has to have another scan in February then another appointment with him or more likely his understudy ,it certainly brings life into perspective

Your wife has a colony of aliens to contend with
Stay positive old chap, you have difficult times ahead but I sincerely hope you both can retain a sense of humour and benefit from your kitchen gardening efforts throughout.

Robo, it must seem surreal to be given this kind of news and somehow be expected to celebrate Christmas with any sense of optimism and joy. All I can say is "Make the most of whatever time is left to you both and support each other".
This kind of news puts life's trivia into perspective so concentrate on the good things.
I wish you both strength in whatever lies ahead.
