Show on for 2 days, 29th & 30th Sept

https://www.malvernautumn.co.uk/

Mrs S going both days, I will be going on Sat 29th Sept

Meet for Tea/Coffee anyone ?

Regret health circumstances suggest it wise not to attempt attending show. Great shame as I have always enjoyed both the Malvern Autumn and Spring shows

And some dahlias.

My brother-in-law was pleased with a first with one of his own breeding. He is also a National Dahlia Society judge but didn't judge this class!

Some of his featured on the trade stand (Halls of Heddon) that won the cup (Le Feu De Soleil is one), Halls sell a few varieties he has raised. The overall stand was impressively in your face.

Doesn't look like a beetroot, more like a number grown so close they merged.

I went to Harrogate Show today too and loved the dahlias particularly. They always remind me of my father who had a large circular bed of all different kinds in the centre of the garden. He took cuttings from them every spring.

There were some huge veg as in Geoff's photos and I wondered how they got the giant pumpkins to the show. The largest weighed 319.8KG!

I like Malvern show but it's a bit too far from here to go for the day. It would be nice to meet up, but I'm sure you'll enjoy zooming round on your scooter Pa.

My photo didn't emphasise the size of the pumpkin so I didn't originally post it. The beetroot were part of a table of particularly ugly veg (carrot, parsnip, beetroot) - poor depth of field but you get the idea.

As I can post three at a time here are some onions - couldn't get a shot of the heaviest onions, too many people.

Those onions make me green with envy.

As for the pumpkin, I think it might have been a entry by one of the cast of Star Wars, Jabba the Hut

Please do us a pic robbo, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to see that a member of the forum has grown a huge pumpkin

I would estimate those onions at around 750grms > 1 kg each in weight

The background is a breeze block wall, pumpkin weighs 319.8Kg. The heaviest onion that I didn't manage to photograph was 7.755Kg. The cabbage 30.2Kg, carrot 4.318Kg and beetroot 19.315Kg.
