August Bank Holiday Monday Mrs S and I visited the Edenbridge and Oxted Agricultural show. Big show with Alpaca's to Zucchini taking part.
The veg and flower show was an inspiration, given how we have been complaining about the effects of the weather this year the quality of the produce entered for judging was nothing short of excellent
I took around 60 pictures of the flower and veg show entries and would like to post some but to be honest as time has gone by I find it more and more of a chore on this site having to resize and being limited to just 3 pictures per post
We can recommend this show to anyone who may be interested in visiting in future years.

I think these shows are always an inspiration. They make me feel very competive and it,s always good to appreciate the hard work which has gone into producing vegetables of a high quality. I think the non growers admire without realising how much effort it takes to being them to the table.
It's often the case that you can pluck three perfect specimens from your plot or allotment but it just happens to be a time when there is no imminent horticultural show about to take place nearby where we can show off our produce so I don,t think we should be discouraged from continuing to grow it or occasionally showing off photos of it on here instead!

We used to go regularly to the Harrogate Autumn Show, especially to see the marvellous vegetable displays (including the giant ones!). Unfortunately, the regular bus service which used to run between Skipton and Harrogate was discontinued about 2 years ago and my OH doesn't fancy joining the rows and rows of queuing vehicles to get there ....... Last time we went to the Harrogate Show we even saw KG's very own Captain Carrot and his lady sidekick!

Never been to a show and I don't think there are many round here, something I would like to do.
Been gardening for over 65 years and still learning.

A touch off centre maybe but a very worthwhile show to arrange a meet at would be the Malvern Autumn show. The show is late enough in the season to have good volume of entries in the veg show, has a giant veg section and lots of trade exhibitors and nursery stands.
I have kept meaning to visit the Harrogate show but never have so have no knowledge of how that may compare.
Chelsea and Hampton Court are too early for veg competitions. Ok if your interest is more floral or you have expensive tastes in garden machinery and accessories
