We now have plenty of rain and the system that I set up to collect all possible has proved itself. There is a pipe off half the house roof that feeds 170 gallon tank by the greenhouse, 2 water butts taking the rain off the workshop plus 4 optional add-on tanks of about 30 gallons each that can be coupled in via hosepipe and they are all full. Only yesterday we restored a 1500 litre tank at the farm so that should be full too. It's months since we had so much water. More promised for tomorrow 20 May.
The snag now is that I haven't had a chance to kill off the weeds from the big outdoor patch for all the cucurbits so I cannot plant them out and they will spoil if kept too long. I managed to squeeze the second batch of runners into sodden soil yesterday.
You can't win them all.
