We have birds nesting in the hedges, so no cutting for a while with the big trimmer, just quietly snip here and there with the shears.
Been gardening for over 65 years and still learning.

Hi Tigerburnie. You gave me advice last year on my barrel pond problems. Still having problems, pond is presently full of water and I am waiting yet again to see if the oil slick returns. May have to resort to a liner which I don’t really want to do as the barrel is watertight. Also it is very big, 40”x25” and I forsee major problems fitting the liner. Have bought plants ready so hopefully be sorted soon. June

Hi, are you changing the water? I wouldn't but leave it to settle and age, should be ok to plant it if the water is not full of nasties like fluoride and chlorine and the rest of the chemicals the water authorities seem to think we need.
