Thanks for you kind comments, can’t say it was hard work, just used the little & often approach. Most days I was the only person on their plot during the winter. There was the benefit that the plot had been looked after in the past though.

Westi, Is that tall enough to walk into and stand upright ??

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.

At least travelling under the guise of the Pa Snip Enterprise gives me an excuse for appearing to be on another planet

What a difference a week makes! Last Monday snow, sleet and rain all day, today a lovely day with lots sunshine and buzzing bees. Brought out all sorts, three Swallows and my farming friend delivered a trailer load of muck. Thought I was going to miss out as lambing has started, fruit cage mulched and will dig the pea bed tomorrow if the weather holds.

Yes it's been a lovely day here too Geoff but is raining now. I've seen a Comma and a Small Tortoishell, lots of different bumblebees on the winter heather, some newts and a dragonfly nymph in the pond, a hedgehog track and droppings on the lawn, and had two Chiffchaffs trying to outdo one another in the wood.

I've even nearly finished all the pruning and tidying up at last.

Hi Pa!

The middle is over 6'. I was concerned that the arc of the hoops would make it too low at the edges to plant much but is about 2 1/2' quickly going to 3' so with plant spacing loads of room for cabbages, smaller toms, chillies etc. I'm keeping the bed at the back very deep at about 8 ft so this will be for the tall brassicas down the middle & I'll put some stepping stones beside these to access my mega huge cabbages I am trying which will go into the edges of that bed, as they will need the room. I'm only growing 4 of these for a bit of fun. They do make custom builds as well though Pa & the normal sizes are on their site.

Lovely day here, a bit overcast, but I had a nice few hours fishing on my local beach.

Your tunnel looks a very useful bit of kit Westi. You should get some excellent crops if you aren't battling with insects, birds etc.

A real sunny spring day here too, at least in the morning - the first butterfly, a small tortoiseshell! I planted the rootrainer-grown broad beans and peas in the garden. They are now being watered in because it's raining .......
