What a bright sunny day yesterday after all those high winds, even had jacket off.
Got another raised bed 3ft x 12ft finished, painted, filled & covered.

When is this rain going to stop? I've so much to do both at home in the greenhouse and on Lottie! And why does work crank up so you miss each window of opportunity - OK only about 10mins of opportunity but time to put the snorkel on at least!

Phone weather looking good for Sunday to date at lottie. Might be a bit wet underfoot but I'm sure there is something I can do - like hammer in the stakes again, rescue the netting & mesh off the fruit trees, (again) find the plastic covering the burn heap (again) ... but will be down there which is more important! Oh forgot - throw the tennis ball constantly for the dog!

Tied in some rampant thornless blackberry shoots, that will probably be my only gardening this weekend, apart from talking nicely to the seed onions still in the propagator, they will need potting on some time next week.

Beautiful day today, so started the big spring cleanup in the garden: cut back all the spent vegetation of herbaceous plants because they were masking the bulbs coming through. So now the swathes of snowdrops are really visible, great. Tree surgeons are coming in two weeks' time to cut back a large bird cherry, several hawthorns, a pyracantha hedge which has grown too tall and thick and, particularly, give our ivy a 'short back and sides' cut against the dry stone walls. I don't think the resident house sparrows will be very pleased but needs must and it may encourage them to create havoc in somebody else's garden .......

Haven't set foot on my plots since Christmas, they are soggy soggy soggy.
Watched my team get stuffed by Coventry today, embarrassing scoreline.
The new bar is pretty solid, but the 3'×16' hole in the front do let the wind and rain in, faces the prevailing wind at a slight angle.

Have to hold the glasses up to the taps or the wind blows the beer onto us and the rain gets into the beer whole the glasses are stood on the bar.
