Pack of 12 sweet pea plants bought from a local reputable garden centre have not flowered at all this season despite prolific growth.

Plants have been grown in a large (two foot wide, eighteen inches deep) pot in a mixture of well rotted horse manure mixed with a general compost. I suspect that this mixture has proved to be too rich but would like some additional thoughts from others please.

Thanks in advance. Mike

I think you're right Mike, all the nitrogen has made them grow instead of sending out flowers. You'll have to keep them a bit hungrier next time and give them a higher potash feed when the flowers are forming.

Plumpudding - thought as much! Will have to treat them less generously next year.
