Early Spiders

Postby Westi » Fri Aug 12, 2016 6:51 pm

Is it just me or are the garden spiders out a bit early this year?

I've done the Spider Dance several times already, but I think I usually have my arms covered. Maybe wrong but feels earlier as usually the webs also have the dew or frost on them so I can see them at least! Last night was the full performance - came in from the garden & there was a huge one in my hair! Scared the spider, the dog & myself! :D

There do seem to be a lot about just now Westi. I don't know whether they are earlier than usual or not but they make a good snack for the birds. I got a face full of web this morning going up to feed the hens .
