Notice the cress I buy from the supermarket has 80% Rape seed & 20% cress.

Am I eating rape & cress or does the rape seed do something else like feed the cress?

You are eating both.
Most "salad cress" is 100% rape seed.

I actually prefer rape seed to land cress or water cress... probably because thats what I'm used to lol

It was always used to be Mustard and Cress and as I am not paticularly fond of it I just wonder when Mustard departed from the scene.
I have picked the centre out of some Oil Seed Rape and cooked as a vegatable and it was quite nice but then when young and tender most things are. I thought that as my sons were growing 200 acres of OSR this year and the Pigeons seem to like it that I would try it.
And no I didn't peck at my food!
JB.
