Westi, raspberry vodka!

1lb raspberries, 1lb sugar, 1 pint vodka, place all three in an airtight Kilner jar or tupperware container, give a good shake and put somewhere cool (I use the fridge) agitate weekly until all the sugar has dissolved, then strain through a sieve pressing out firmly and bottle.

Starts bright red and very fruity, darkens to sloe gin, then browner, keep in a dark place.
Frozen raspberries give up their juice more freely than fresh and either way there is a certain cloudiness, but the taste :D

My dear wife is putting fresh raspberries into smoothies.

Mine are just forming - about 2 inches long & skinny! I thought there were supposed to be advantages to living in the tropical south! :D

Dear Westi, i'm glad it's not just mine then, hopefully we will get a mild Autumn, so they carry on later in the year.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Time for "Mid-summer Bits and Bobs" perhaps, OH? It seems to be getting a bit warmer now.
