Had a run out with the Memsahib. Dropped into a garden centre that I do not normally visit.Selling cabbage plants, six in a container for £1-99. that's 33p each. Cheaper to order the finished product from Harrods.

Often is the case with veg plants. except if P & P is applicable.

As an aside, 6 plants for £1.99 is a bargain compared to some places. Seen prices of £2.25 and £2. 95 per 6 around this area. One nationwide chain of garden centres is the worst offender and what I have seen of the quality of their early stock has been dire.

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.

At last the soil is starting to dry again and even felt slightly warm on top. So, with some more nice weather predicted, who knows, we might even get some stuff in at the weekend, or early next week.......hooorah :D
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Some warmth would be welcome! I did get some preparatory work done in the warmer spell early in March but the cold Easter has reminded me that real spring is yet to arrive.

As long as it stays dry, I'll start planting next week.

The weeds are germinating, so it must be warm enough
Cheers PJ.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long...........

Another cracking day here. Apart from a brief shower yesterday at lunch time that makes two on the trot. I think I've got more done on the allotment in two days than the rest of the year put together; at least, that's what my back is telling me!. The plot is actually looking as though someone loves and cares for it; wonder how long that will last now that weed growing season is upon us. :?:

Bright and sunny morning, feels cold out of the sun, much planned.

Quick nip into Wilkinson's tomorrow to top up on seeds, if anything left of course! I say quick but I haven't been to that shopping precinct since before Xmas so that my mean a wee bit longer than anticipated! They've got the Chinese Supermarket there as well & it is market day as well! Oh Dear - might be busy on Sunday then!

Nice sunny day here today, so I planted some onion sets this afternoon.

The early potatoes in tubs in the greenhouse are growing rapidly. I must plant up the other tubs and leave them outside.

Yet another trip to the recycling centre today with the last of the brick bbq. Glad to see the back of it :D
Cheers PJ.

Let's just say progress was made. :)
