Has anyone noticed strange tasting brazil nuts? I always chop some up in our muesli (gluten free OH is coeliac) and occasionally you get one that tastes like weed killer or what I think weed killer would taste like, it taints the whole mouthful. I started buying organic ones but it makes no difference you still get the odd one. What is it?

I've experienced this for years and I've always put it down to just the odd nut which has gone "off". It must be quite difficult to tell which nuts are bad in a crop, as the shells tend to look the same on the outside and you only find out after you've bitten into one! Rather like apples used to be before they started spraying them into submission (you could hardly tell which ones contained a grub until you saw the bitten half of one still squirming inside the apple). Gleugh!
