This little ditty was sent to me today.

'Of all the things in summer, the joy and comfort they bring
But when a man sits on a tin tack, tis the sign of an early spring'

Made me wonder if it was the start the saying of knowing when to plant. 'drop your trousers and sit on the soil, if it feels warm to the behind then ok. but if it is still cold then wait a while'

Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.
