Indeed Primrose & Tigger! Note the prices don't go back down when the 'fad' is over either!
Another thing I'd buy is pork fillet in one piece & would get several meals out of it by preparing it into little Steaks or dices before freezing - now all I seem to find is 3 measly slices on a polystyrene tray! My all time favourite butcher has closed as well leaving a few farm shops or the supermarket, none of which have the variety of game & butchering skills he had.

Yesterdays supper was lambs liver with bacon and lots of home grown onion, plus an oxo cube, some water and later some cornflour, served with carrot and swede incorporated into mashed potato. It was DELICIOUS,

thankfully lambs liver doesn't yet seem to have hit the Cheffie popularity stakes, so is still relatively inexpensive for the small amount one needs to serve but I must confess, I do like it flavoured with lots of onions !
