I grow 'Alderman' every year and have saved seed for the last 2 or 3 years. The last seed that I bought contained a few peas of a different variety and seed saving has perpetuated the intruder. It grows as tall as 'Alderman', but the pods are much shorter, blunt ended and slightly paler. The peas are smaller and a little paler, too.
I don't mind having this intruder in my rows of peas, but wonder what variety it could be. Anyone have an idea?
A question about peas

Afternoon Bigrog, it sounds to me as if it has come in as a rouge pea, and is now crossing with the Alderman. So you could name it yourself, and keep the seed from it each year, if you think it is good enogh.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Thanks for that, oldherbaceous. Perhaps I'll be famous! The peas are certainly nice, if small like petits pois.
