It is a strange time in the sky from now until Earth reaches perihelion on 4th Jan. It is almost as though the Earth and Sun stand still for a few days with very little change in day/night length.

I know in reality very little changes for a while in terms of daylight hours but oh how I welcome the psychological boost of getting past December 21st.
