I have to say, I'm chuffed to bits with how it's turning out.

Everything was about 1 month late going in, and some plot neighbours have already picked all their peas, and are eating cabbages, but mine are doing ok. They're not quite a whole month behind - they seem to have caught up a little. Next year it will all be done at the right times.

My runner beans look just as tall, strong, & bushy as everyone elses.

I'm amazed that I haven't had to buy any spinach, lettuce or radishes at all this summer.

Well done, looks-fantastic, are they stones on your soil ? If they are then i'm in good company.

Looks like you put a lot of work in, i'm amazed that many of you are doing this and working full time. Do you get to mend and paint the windows and all that other stuff that needs doing as well as tending to your plot ?

My effort looks pathetic compared with yours.

Funny you should mention that Richard. I have been doing the majority of the work during the day as I'm currently "between jobs" (due to redundancy).

However, I was offered (and happily accepted) a job yesterday, so now I will have to work out how to fit everything in.

I had been trying to find a part-time job but the right number of hours seemed to be as rare as hens' teeth, so I'm going back to full-time work.

Before the Plot I barely found time for work, rest, housework, cooking, laundry. And now I'll have to squeeze the Plot in too. Yikes! I have absolutely no idea how this will all pan out!

My problem is I don't have a decent days work in me any longer, if I get six hours on my legs both my back and legs need a rest and any jobs i'm doing are heavily punctuated by sit-downs and cuppa breaks which sort of explains my continuing presence on the forum. Right now this is my breakfast break, I started work at 7.30.

I have a working partner who happily does what needs to be done but I do like to get things mopped up so she doesn't need to.

Right now i'm on window repairs outside and dodging the showers, the gardening plot is on hold and i'll need to drag the vacuum cleaner out before Friday.

This boys work is never complete.

Richard, yes it's very stoney. I pick out the biggest and make a little pile, then forget to move them, so my Plot has several little piles of stones in and around
