Know it well, have a cousin in Bovey and another over Lustliegh way. Nice bit of country, you are very lucky!

Mum was born in Moreton where her father, grandfather and uncle were the vets.

Mum and Dad are now down on the Exe estuary near Powderham. I am stuck in Sussex at the moment but hope to more back to the farm at some point in the future.

Ever thought about planting some deep rooted vegetables in the graveyard, they should do really well once they get there roots down.

Kind regards the silly Old Herbaceous.

I just wondered why you don't use capital letters, i suppose it's a new way of teaching.
When i was at Eaton they were very strict on capital letters, or was it capital punishment, i forget now it was so long ago.

Kind regards a forgetful Old Herbaceous.

When i'm not fishing i'm mending my nets.

i am a lazy typist!
i lie on my sofa watching tv and typing at the same time as eating chocolate-my spellings not too bad though!
capitals are a tad tricky whilst doing all those things!
i'll try my best!
sorry Herby!

Welcome Jo - I'm a fairly recent newbie and they've all been lovely to me (so far). Wait til I get my own garden and start asking really stupid questions....

My Grandad lived just outside Okehampton but bless him he died a couple of weeks ago, he took such pride in his garden and his veggies - he grew or caught everything he ate, never bought it. An aunt of mine also grows her own in fish boxes she picks up from the beach.

Snorkers? Where does 'snorkers' come from Lizzie?? - you a Wogan listener too??

Hi Franksmum

It's Piglets expression. Him and Mrs Piglet taker snorkers to the plot to be cooked and eaton in buns with lots of brown sauce.

We were worried as he seemed to be indulging in a spot of cannabalism. He assures us that he isn't. I'm not sure though, he can be a very naughty Piglet who frequently gets his trotters tanned
Lots of love

Don't be embarrassed,I love Wogan too! Unfortunately, since my son changed schools last Sept, I don't get to listen as much.We have to leave the house at 8, & my car radio is knackered - it only gets Radio 4!so I'm limited to 1/2 an hr a day  did i hear that Pauly Walters has retired?
