Thank you, now for the stupid question   do I shake them with the pan full of water   and knowing my luck most of it will end up over me :( :(

Regards

Arnie

:D I think they have all answered already :D But sometimes I empty all the water, and sometimes leave a little in whatever is quickest. Wrapping them in a towel is a good idea, but I always go for the easiest quickest option, so just shaking them in the pan they were boiled in saves effort on the washing up as well.

I shell them under the water in the pan, and rinse off any extra bits of shell under the tap

The running under tap water also makes them cool more quickly which helps prevent that blue grey ring which sometimes forms round the yolk

It's all white, but I shell eggxpect at least one person won't get the yolk. :D

Then we'll be left with egg on our faces.
Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.
