Do mice actually eat shallots?

I'm asking because all the "seed" shallots I stored temporarily in our garage have simply vanished. I don't know whether they're the kind of food that mice would steal and take back to the nests.

I'm guessing that mice will take just about anything back to their nests at this time or year ..... or any time of year  Sorry you've lost your seed shallots though :( .

We have had mice nibble stored onions and so I'd imagine they would also eat shallots.

The mice have neatly excavated and carried off all of the 24 broad beans which I planted in modules in the greenhouse last week. All that's left today is 24 neat little holes :(

Will have to replant and build wire mesh anti-mouse fortifications.

My two cats..useless!!
