Essex County Council has been running a discounted Compost bin scheme for its residents, up to three bins per household.

The discount price, delivered is unbelievably low.

330 Litre Dalek is £5.00 from £49.00
600 Litre Soil Saver, square bin, is £15.00 from £79.95.

If anyone else's council is doing a similar scheme, usually quietly advertised in local papers and restricted to their residents, please do us all a favour and post it up on this forum.

I contacted Blackwalls to ask about a bulk order to our site, only to be told they will deliver just one if that's all that's required.

Call Blackwalls on 0845 073 2001. They will just need to know how many and where to deliver. The prices are £5 for a 330L & £15 for a 660L. They also sell the proper bases to stop rodents moving in

We're getting together to place a bulk order this year; the one downside is they can't give you a definite delivery date so having them dumped on site could cause a theft problem. I'm having our lot delivered to my garage at home for collection by our plotholders.

Vicki, as far as I'm aware, Blackwalls will deliver anywhere in the country at those prices. It might be worth calling them if yours are more expensive.
