I seem to have come in a bit late on this one - now orbiting another universe. Oh well, I still want to tell you that after years of despising gloves 'just can't feel what you are doing' - I was sent some Showa gloves from NZ and they are brilliant! They fit very firmly and are just like a second skin. The only time I don't wear them is when I am pricking out tiny seedlings. Apart from that, they are on all the time - great for weeding even small weeds, so my hands now only get 'dusty' not dirty - don't need scrubbing. Further, OH being a bloke, refused to wear his for months, until finally agreeing to try them, just so he could tell them back in NZ what he thought. He is now a convert and wears them most of the time. These gloves are machine washable too. I've now bought several pairs each. They are no good for handling blackberries or roses and I do still get stung by nettles on the back of the hand (just mesh there), but for everyday looking after your hands, they are wonderful.

I use Showa gloves too Chez and as you say, they are brilliant.

This is mine, and I am curious what other methods (blowtorches, liqued gold and any similar methods excluded.) people use.
