One of my weekend inventions to use up a late crop of tomatoes; something different from just eating them cold. Googled it later and found plenty of recipes similar to mine.
Cherry tomatoes (Gardener's Delight/Sungold) halved
Medium sized red tomatoes sliced
Garlic
Basil
Extra virgin olive oil
Slice garlic thinly
Warm in olive oil
Add tomatoes and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until soft but still whole
Add chopped basil
Allow to cool for a few minutes
Eat warm with hot or cold meat or anything you like
Warm tomato salad

Below is something that uses broad beans and tomatoes together this is a very nice dish.
I dont weigh my ingredients just chuck in what I fancy with this dish.
Warm broad bean and feta salad.
Serves 4-6
900 g/2lb broad beans shelled or 350g/12 oz frozen beans
4 tbsp olive oil
6oz plum toms halved or quartered if large
4 cloves of garlic crushed
4oz firm feta cheese cut into chunks
3tbsp chopped fresh dill (I never put this on it)
12 olives (I don’t like olives so only my OH gets these)
Salt and pepper
1. Cook the fresh or frozen broad beans in boiling salted water until just tender. Drain and set aside.
2. Meanwhile heat the oil in a heavy based frying pan and add the tomatoes and garlic. Cook until the toms are beginning to colour.
3. Add the feta to the pan and toss the ingredients together for one minute, mix with the drained beans, dill, olives and salt and pepper. Serve with chopped dill.

We use a variation on Alan's warm tomato salad which includes Choriso sausage. for those who want a slightly more substantial snack.
Just chop up the sausage into chunks and fry in a pan until it's brown and crispy.
Then proceed more or less with Alan's recipe.

Glad you enjoyed it Alan - we've stocked up on choriso as we have soooooooo many tomatoes to use up and the yellow and red tomato combination looks very enticing. Cooking romatoes gently in this way really seems to bring out the flavours and the juices, and with the experts telling us that the lycopenes are increased when tomatoes are cooked, it's nice to eat something tasty and know that it's actually healthy too!
