I am half way through making the Apple & sloe jelly recipe in this months magazine (it is dripping through the jelly bag). I have a feeling that port would go well in this jelly but I don't want to add it to the whole batch - only half.

My question - can I procede to setting point, pour half out into jars, and then add Port to the last half before bottling it all up? Should I bring it back to the boil before bottling?
Kind regards,

Elle

Just to report back in case of future interest, I did add a splash or two of port just before pouring into Jars and it has been very successful. The jelly has a lovely rich colour with a perfect set. To be fair I haven't yet opened a jar without the port addition to see if there is a detectable difference - but, so far, Apple & Sloe Jelly with Port is highly recommended. :D
Kind regards,

Elle
