Great Tips on Passata, thanks guys, now have something to put on the pasta over the winter, instead of yet more chutney and soup, without having to go to the supermarket for it. Just a thought, I think Ascott are about to sell out of their pretty little jars though!

No, I dont put chutney and soup on my pasta, You do know what I mean!!

Sorry this reply is a bit late but i thought you might find it useful.
I posted a page on preserving tomatoes on our website including pasata, pasta sauce and tomatoe paste.

There are other recipes on the site such as Ratatouille which also freezes very well.

Thanks everyone, taken all these ideas on board and am going to tackle the tomato mountain now!

Proof of the pudding - different passata from different tomatoes. I made the mistake of thinking the beefsteak toms would be as good as San Marzano. Not next year! :shock: :lol:
