Not my recipe, all credit to Nigel Slater though, (check out BBC food). Used my 2 best leeks and tested this out in my new cooker. Delicious and loads left for eating cold. Almost followed recipe to the letter (unusual for me!), did add a crumbled chicken stock cube to the filling.

I did look it up Jude, sounds delicious. But I have to say my recipe is a lot quicker and easier. Short crust pastry, using left over cooked chicken diced, bacon lardens fried till crispy, chopped leeks, maybe a few sliced mushrooms then a tin of Campbells condensed soup diluted with half a can of water or milk. (makes enough for 2 8" pies) Glaze the top with beaten egg. Bake in medium to hot oven. (gas 6) for about 40 mins.

Ideal for left overs at Christmas.

Beryl - my Nan had loads of recipes with condensed soups of any flavour but am finding it a bit hard to find down here! Posh Southerners!

Waitrose and Morrisons stock them Westie. They did disappear for a few years but are black now.
