Alan, no need to get mad over sprouting. :wink:

My sprouts went horizontally, for the most part they did not rise up out of the compost.
Now I know that it is dark in the bin as it is an old solid galvanised one, not the cheap and flimsy corrugated tinplate style, with a three inch vertical overhang on the lid, but I had assumed that gravity played some part in stuff underground finding its way to the surface, so why the horizontal run going up only when they hit the sides? :?
