What is the average weight of potatoes per root?.
My son dug up one root today for me, Charlotte 2nd earlies and they were 26 potatoes weighing 6 & 1/2 lbs is that good/.

If that is in the ground, then yes, it is good. :D

Hi Bren,
It is very good and beats the commercial growers because they reckon to get 20 tons per acre and your yield would be almost 32 tons to the acre!
So it is not only good it bloody marvellous!

Sounds wonderful. Anybody know what the average rate per root is for container grown potatoes? Not sure whether one would get better or worse results grown in 100% commercial compost instead of soil. Despite my gentle fumblings down the side of one of my potato containers I've hardly felt a thing so will probably end up with the 'Worst in Show' award for mine.
