Tomatoes, how big?

How big (how many trusses) should i let my cordon toms get before i pinch out the growing tip? 4 or 5 or more?

I only grow beef tomatoes,and I let the plants grow over the eaves, as they do in Guernsey with theirs.

As far as I am concerned,stopping plants after so many trusses is another fable.

So go with the flow, let them grow!

I too never stop any variety of tomatoes - nor do I bother to count the number of trusses. I just harvest. I remove a few leaves to help ripening and try to keep up with sideshooting (at least until small fruited varieties are about 4-5' high).

I was referring to indoor tomatoes.
I think OH's answer gives the clue - stopping tomatoes is a good idea to enable outdoor ones to have a chance of ripening in an uncertain climate.

Mine too are outdoors and I just let them keep growing and give them a weekly feed of Tomorite. Every extra tomato I can pick makes growing your own more worthwhile.
