Firat time growing it and dn,t have have muxh experience of growing ordinary garlic.
Firat plant has suddenly gone to seed. Should I pull it up just like an onion which has gone to seed, dey and use as soon as possible? Presume there,s no point in leaving it in the ground hoping the bulb, of one has formed, will grow any bigger.

Hi primrose - I've grown these before (but am no expert). I would take the flowers off, just like you do with garlic and leave them in the ground to fully develop for as long as possible - probably into late June at the earliest. You'll see the leaves start to yellow when they're ready. If you pull them up know you'll either have little cloves or a big one if not split. Wait and you'll have lots of huge cloves. Interesting taste, not as strong as garlic. I think they're a relative of the leak.

Probably worth feeding them - someone else will be probably better at knowing this, but try an onion feed or maybe some pot ash?

Keep the best and grow it next year!
