I've some garlic about ready for harvesting. Some of them have a bulbous area on the stem, a couple of inches above the ground. Inside there seems to be some garlic cloves. Are these edible, or are they 'seeds' that can they be planted for next year? Any advice gratefully received. Lynda

They're edible, but can you be bothered? I expect they're a bit fiddly to peel, and not much left when you do. You can grow from them, though you won't get much of a yield.
Allotment, but little achieved.
