Hi Johnboy
You mentioned that you take quiet a few cuttings each year of comfrey, is it just the tops you cut or right down to the ground? and when making comfrey liquid is it just the leaves or can the stems be used thanks for any help.

Hi Bren,
They are root cuttings that I take and they are now about 8" high.
You can use the stems as well as the leaves but I use only the leaves and put the stem to compost. If you use the stems you will get a build-up of parts that do not biodegrade and ultimately you end up with blockages which are a nuisance beause what you want is a constant drip once the whole thing is up and going.
JB.
